The Beast

After an hour of vehement swearing, strenuous pulling, and frequent lifting, the job was finally complete. The multi-spoke, chrome-lipped Volk LE28s accented the Subaru Legacy well, adding a sleek and deceitful look. Pumping the Momo shift knob into gear #2 out of 5, I felt a split-second lapse in time before I was once again pushed into the well-bolstered seat. Before I knew it, the red needle pointed to 80 km/h; I immediately eased off the throttle. Convinced that the beast was still a beast after five months of torture in the form of snow, slush, bitterly cold temperatures, and road salt, I headed back to my residence with a wide grin spreading across my face.
